It’s down to the bunches.

In some areas of central Sardinia, the woody part of the bunch, which gives the grape all its nourishment, is called “tonaghe”. Cannonau grapes provide a ruby red toast at sunset, making every moment a great excuse for a celebration.

The intense bouquet is reminiscent of wild blackberries and its flavour is full-bodied and structured, typical of Cannonau grapes. Like any great red, it goes well with barbecued red meat, game and medium mature cheeses.
